Discovering the Ca' Granda

To mark the 90th anniversary of its establishment on 8th December 1924, the University of Milan has taken part in a joint project with the Hospital (Fondazione Irccs Ca’ Granda – Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico) to celebrate our common cultural heritage, organized by our professor of Medieval History, Francesca Vaglienti.

Eleven permanent display poles in Italian and English are positioned in key locations around the Ca’Granda, allowing citizens, visitors and tourists to find out about the history and use of this monumental complex, which, together with the Duomo and Castello, best represents the political ambitions of the Dukes of Sforza in Renaissance Milan.

Each pole has a QR code with a link to a special web page (in Italian and English), allowing the blind and visually impaired to enjoy the display independently, if they have a smartphone with text-to-speech technology.
